Protein 1.5% lower than Glenn on Average |
Prosper Wheat
New Prosper was introduced in North Dakota a few years back as Fallers successor. The varieties are very similar Though Prosper is one of the highest yielding wheats in North Dakota, it is 1.5% lower in protein than Glenn. Prosper does not have high enough protein to be registered as a HRS wheat in Canada. Agronomically and for milling purposes Prosper performs much like our current HRS wheat varieties.
Prosper is only availabler through Richardson Pioneer or through a Warburtons program.
*Please note that the lower protein in this variety on some years will possibly negate the advantage of higher yields. When protein premiums are high, it may be to your advantage to grow traditional CWRS varieties.
